The Norwegian Saab
club, Gammalsaabens Venner (GSV) was established in 1977, originally comprising
two-strokes only. Gradually, the club’s focus was enlarged, and today
encompasses all Saabs 21 years or older. Our motto, as seen in the logo above,
is “en forening til Saabens bevarelse og velferd” (an association for the
preservation and welfare of the Saab).
We aim to assist members with maintenance and restoration, including spare parts, and to
stimulate contacts by arranging local and national meetings, as well as by the
publication of our quarterly magazine, “Frihjulet” (the free-wheel). GSV has
hosted two international Saab events, the “Saabiad” in Lillehammer (1993)
and the Northern Lights Challenge, Oslo- North Cape- Trollhättan (1997).
The membership fee is NOK 350 p.a. Membership presently stands at about 550, with members from Norway as well as abroad.

Nowadays the cars are mainly used in the summer time
and more and more by enthusiasts. One aim for our club is to secure the
stockholding of spare parts and thus the club is selling many specific spare
parts for the Sonett. In some cases we even initiate new production of some
parts.
Another important issue is to see that our members in Sweden have good and favourable insurance alternatives for their Sonetts..
Four times yearly, we issue a Swedish club paper, “Sonettvärlden” or “the Sonett World” which we see as the main source for information. We write about different matters like our meetings in Sweden but are also informing about the International Saab Meetings. Further on, we write about spare parts and insurance questions and the history of the different Sonett models. Our members can advertise the sale and purchase of spare parts or complete cars, naturally free of charge. Of course you also have an excellent opportunity to contribute with articles about your Sonett or for example to give mechanical advice. If we receive the articles in English, we normally publish them without translation whereas if we receive the articles in other languages we normally prefer to translate them to Swedish.

Saab Klub Polska (Saab Club of Poland) was founded in 2003 but in the very short period of time we have gathered almost all early Saab model owners into the club.
We are the sole Saab club in Poland so sooner or later all the new Saab owners contact us to get accurate info about their lovely car and meet the people who love these cars in the same way.
We have 210 full members in our club with different Saab car models, from Sonett and 96 to 9-3 Sport Combi. We have several meetings in Poland every year and two Official Meettings in Spring and Autumn.
On our website forum we have 2361 registered members from all over our country and also from other countries around the world.
Marcin Trybura, Vice president Saab Klub Polska

"The one club for all SAAB enthusiasts in Belgium"
Found its origin in the "SAAB 96's club" founded in 1987.
Became an all SAAB club in 1999.
We currently have around 220 members. We are a bi-lingual (Dutch/French) club covering all of Belgium, with no local subdivisions.
We have a large group of active members, sometimes up to 50 members coming to our events.
We publish a bi-monthly newsletter and a book annually with photo's giving an overview of the events of past year.
We organise at least one event per month, two of which, annually, are scenic drives.
A small club in a small country but with great enthusiasm.
Axel Boey, Secretary Saab Club Belgium
