Hello from Canada.
I hope there are some here who don’t mind me writing in English and can offer some assistance. My father (Nederlander) spent some time in Sweden but the only word I remember is tack. So, Tack in advance for any help.
I have just purchased a 1964 96 from an old gentleman who owned this car from new. Over the years he has it changed to late Monte Carlo specification with 3 carbs, oil injection, 4 speed, disc brakes and 4 bolt wheels, interior instruments. It looks nice and drives well. Here are some pix; http://s1057.photobucket.com/albums/t397/1964_Saab_96_KW/?start=all
First question – what is the correct oil to use for the injection pump? I was considering a 30W oil with high PTFE zinc content. http://www.penngrade1.com/Products/High-Performance/SAE-30.aspx

Wonderful car! Congratulations!
The oil you are refering too, is that an engine oil? i can not read out from the datasheet that it is for twostroke engines.
Castrol TTS (or power racing 1) is a good oil. You must use a twostroke oil. (not outbord)
Been a Saab owner since 1987.
I have owned at least 50 Saabs, mainly older Saabs.1960 93F

Does anyone have a recommendation for modern, replacement spark plugs? All I have is listings from old manuals.

What’s wrong with outboard oil?
Not that I would use it, or even try to find it. I’m just curious.@Hans H wrote:

No diffrence in smelling. But it´s made for engines that runs cooler so lubrication scales are diffrent. I have used Outboard oil a lot & it works good.

The you haven’t used the sh*t Roswall sold from his barrel! Think it was OKQ8 outboard oil? You could realy puke of the smoke, phew!
Castrol TT racing, mmmmmm….It was not the oil from Roswall that made the smell. It was the barrels that Roswall used! It made some reaction so the filter in Erik Randas Monte Carlo engines oilcan. It totaly disapear.
The barrel had contain some Poison from some farmer. Very agressive and smelling terrible!

maj 10, 2012 kl. 12:00 #43435I have gone the safe route. I had to go to an off-road motor cycle shop to find synthetic 2 stroke injection oil.
Plenty of choices but they think I’m mad to use this in a car! I should mention, the shop is run by 20 year old kids….
Dont forgot to be safe and also use 1% oil in fuel. Original Lubricator is not 100% bullit proof. this advise has saved a lot of engines during the times.
Dont drive to careful. It´s a 2stroke it like to rev so push the throttle hard during accelaration. Dont forget to use the freewheel when you drive on highway.
