I was looking around for a set of Average Speed Tables that I could use to make some of the Roadbook Rallies a little more complicated. Not a problem to find professional tables but they turned out to be too much for the type of rally I put together. So the easiest thing was to create my own tables and print out the pages needed for each rally. As with most car orientated projects I couldn’t leave it just a couple of sheets so I created a full set of Average Speed Tables in PDF format. The following are two links to the files, one in Kph and the other in Mph.

      Average Speed Tables – Kph
      Average Speed Tables – Mph

The Kph tables cover speeds from 20-75 Km/h (in steps of 1 km/h) and distance from 0-49.9 Km (in steps of 1/10th of a Km).
The Mph tables cover speeds from 10-65 Mph (in steps of 1 Mph) and distance from 0-49.9 miles (in steps of 1/10th of a mile).

Note: This is the first compilation of the tables so I imagine there will be a few changes. Any comments or suggestions about the tables would be appreciated.

Dicst, Christian: Thanks. Takes a bit of time to sort things out, but it is fun. I have done a little update to both books, there is now an example page at the front explaining how the tables are used in one of the rallies. Once I have finalized the layout and contents then I will translate it all to Swedish.

I have been working more on the Average Speed Tables and have managed to invest in a good printer and spiral binding equipment, only way to keep the production costs down.

I have also added more information on my site about the Speed Tables, and a few other things I am working on, like the Saab wiring diagrams, you can find the information at: http://www.car-id.biz, just click on the menu item on the right for Average Speed Tables. Currently in English but this will change to Swedish once I get a good translation done.

The problem I am facing at the moment is finalizing the contents of the Pro version of the Speed Tables. I wonder if any rally drivers/navigators on the forum can help. I am having a problem with how detailed the contents should be. I have searched around for details on the net but there is not much on the Km/h tables. For the MPH tables I am planning on having the contents like this:

              MPH
              10
              11
              12
              13
              14
              15
              16-35 in 0,1 of a MPG (i.e. 16,0 16,1 16,2….)
              36
              37
              38
              39
              40

That gives a total of 116 pages, or 211 sides of data.

For the Km/h table I am thinking of the following contents:

              Km/h
              20
              21
              22
              23
              24
              25-55 in 0,1 of a Km/h (i.e. 25,0 25,1 25,2…)
              56
              57
              58
              59
              60
              61
              62
              63
              64
              65
              66
              67
              68
              69
              70
              71
              72
              73
              74
              75

This gives a total of 175 pages, or 325 pages of data. The pages containing 0,1 Km/h increments are printed doubled sided.

Should I go ahead with the above or does anyone have suggestions on a better layout. It should be noted that with all the data I have compiled and formatted I can make custom speed tables.

If you can help or know of anyone that could help me with this, please let me know, it will be appreciated.
