I have a 99 from 1977 with a Zenith carburetor. The carburetor has been overhauled, but I can’t seem to get it running right. It looks that if after tuning (by 4 different garages) it looses its settings. Using the choke while running improves its behaviour (!). CO% makes no difference (had it between 2 and 3,5%). Has anybody experienced this as well or has anyone a clue where to look?

      Regards, Pieter

where did you buy the parts? Zenith carbs always works best with Zenith genuine spares. It is possible to buy aftermarket needles and jets to some Saab carbs but they are not very good.
I have overhauled many carbs with just the standard setting and always get the CO perfect without instruments and that is probably due to the fact that I use Zenith needle and jet from start.
I can help you with the correct spares if you can not find them locally.

Scantech parts were used by a profession carburetor company (in England).
