När jag först börja min 92B och övergång till 1: a eller vända bilen inte
gå in växeln. En vän föreslog att jag stänger bilen av och starta om och försöka igen.
Av någon anledning det fungerar!
Naturligtvis kan jag inte fortsätta att köra bilen på detta sätt – jag måste ta reda på
vad som är fel och fixa det eller någon dag jag kan bli strandsatta någonstans.
Kan jag vänligen ha dina tankar om vad du tror att problemet kan vara?

When I first start my 92B & shift into 1st or reverse the car does not
go into gear. A friend suggested that I shut the car off & restart & try again.
For whatever reason this works!
Of course, I can’t continue to drive the car this way – I have to figure out
what is wrong & fix it or some day I may be stranded somewhere.
May I please have your thoughts on what you think the problem might be?

You got problems with your freewheel. I´m not into Saab 92 but when this happens on 93-96V4 you will need to dismantle the freewheel. If you are lucky it will be enough with this.
One thing that can work is if you drive your 92 varm. Then out with gearbox oil very quickly, Fill up with Diesel or Fotogen. Drive around the block carefully and use all gears up and down.
Fast out with Diesel and in with new oil, If Diesel is very Dirty drive once more with diesel. If you are really lucky freewheel will start working again.Important is that gearbox is warm all the time during this process

jimBrukar tyvärr sällan funka med bara disel på 92an frihjulet ser anorlunda ut på 92 det brukar vara korgen som rullarna sitter i som är trasig så det blir hel knas med frihjulet. Tar man ur lådan är 92ans låda väldigt lätt att ta isär och byta det som är trasigt. Problemet kan vara att få tag på delarna.. Däremot från 93 och uppåt kan diselknepet funka på. Men försök på 92an det kan inte bli värre iallafall. 😉

These gearboxes need an oilchange every now and then (use the advise on the site and/or the the car it’s maintanance schedule) to prevent the freewheel getting stuck (and parts a for instance the bearings and the differential wear out quicker than they ought to do), that’s for sure.
Will it just not go in first gear and reverse or also in second and third?
It might be a clutchprobleem, maybe the plate will not come free due to too much kabelclearance, a worn clutchbearing or a bend clutchplate (allthough the last thing is most unlikely because of the small dimensions of the plate)
If this came up suddenly after a period of non-use it is likely the clutch sticks to the flywheelsurface due to rust or oil.
Have you ever noticed clutchjudder drving off or changing gear when it still ran fine through all gears?Tack tvåtaktfanatiker.
Yes my 92B is stored most of the time. Particularly now – it has been stored all winter. So, the problem arose recently, right after extended storage. So, perhaps a simple fluid change will do the trick. I hope! I will keep the group posted.
