      Hello!

      I am about to install a förstärkningssats into a Saab 96 V4.

      See here: https://saabklubben.se/wp-content/uploads/old/reinforcement_v4.gif

How do I best remove the original nuts for the upper whishbones so I can put in Parts number 2?

      Tack!

      Erik

Put the bolt back in the welded nut (just a few threds) and hit it hard with a hammer until it is removed from the chassie.

Not for “Made In Finland” 96´s. They are absolutely fast velded !

:race I think, it could depending who has used the pointvelding- machine. Thats because all old Saab´s were more or less handmade. It can be also, that I have had those tight velded ones, who knows. Or, maybe because Fredrik is bigger and more muscles he think its easy task :h

                    Okay, so I can confirm:

Hit it max. 3 times with the big Hammer and of they are. :race

Only thing that is not so nice then is that you get away with a hole approx. 14mm diameter for a screw that is about 8.3mm (UNC-stuff). So I think I should put a small piece of tube (inside 8.3mm, outside 14mm) in that hole to center the screws. Didn’t expect that to be necessary.

                    Best Regards,
                    Erik

Okay, not necessary to put in a tube to center the screw. It centers automatically as the plate with the threads positions the screw correctly without any chance to do it wrong. :wrench
