      Hej!

      The kopplings huvudcylinder in my dads Sonett III is beyond repair. Totally corroded and stuck, no chance to move the cylinder even in a vice.

      So we are looking for a replacement. I found two cylinders via Racing delivery companies that appear to be suitable:
      – Girling -> http://www.isa-racing.com/product_info.php/info/p1982_Geberzylinder-mit-Reservoir.html
      – Wilwood -> http://www.wilwood.com/MasterCylinders/MasterCylinderProd.aspx?itemno=260-2636, available at different places

      From the data that I found they should perfectly fit as the diameter of piston, stroke, thread for the hydraulic pipe, attachement-flange and so on are the same as the Sonett part.

      Anybody tried one of these solutions?

      Best Regards,
      Erik

        I will possibly give it a try. Will let you know what comes out of it.

          Hi Erik,

          A year ago I found myself in that very same situation, the brakemaster in my -73 had to be replaced. I started out looking for alternative solitions usch as the two cylinders you mentioned. Pretty soon I realized what you probably also realize by now; either there are no one that has tried an alternative solution or no one wants to share…

          Anyways, I managed to track down a salvage cylinder that i restored. I, and im sure others, would be thrilled to know how an aftermarket cylinder works out!

          Good luck and please keep us posted!
