I’m sorry, Swedish is not one of my languages, I hope you don’t mind me writing in English……
My 1978 SAAB 96 GL Super was first sold in Sweden to a Rolf Gustavsson, of Hisings, Karra, which is I believe a suburb of Gothenburg.
The car was assigned the number plate, KKH 212, at this time.
The delivery card, which I have, also says, and I quote, GA nr 4200, and ”Bilen said av af nr” 3322, though I have no idea what these things mean..?
The chassis number is 96783002039. Colour Laguna Blue, Colour code B10H.
Is there any way of finding out something about the history of the car, during its’ ”Swedish years”, so to say?
In the UK, the Vehicle licensing authority will share information about previous owners of vehicles, annual safety test certificates etc etc, is the same service available in Sweden?
I have quite a lot of history of the car, after it came to the UK, it would be great to fill in the gaps of the history of the car, from the time it spent in Sweden.

Hello. One thing you can do is to contact Riksarkivet and see if they have any documents about your car. They will need the old swedih licenseplatenumber, and if your lucky, you will get all the info from when the car first was registrated.
Nice car by the way.10 maj, 2017 kl. 11:46 #430014
Thanks for info, I have sent them a message.
Yes, she’s a really nice car. I’ve done a lot to the car.
Reconditioned engine and gearbox, leather seats, new carpets, new suspension on the rear, re-spray, etc etc…
Attached is a photo of the car in her ”birth street” in Karra. I was at the SAAB festival at Trollhattan, in 2015.
Thanks again for info.

”Bilen said av af nr” 3322
It probably says ”bilen såld av åf nr 3322” … ”Car sold by retailer number 3322”. Though I don’t know which dealership that would refer to…10 maj, 2017 kl. 20:18 #430029

Just wanted to say thanks to you all.
I contacted the Riksarkivet, and they have supplied me with the documentation that tracks the change of ownership of the car from Rolf Gustavsson, the first owner, through a second owner called Jaan Koster, to a Gary Cranford, who sounds British, and was probably the chap who exported the car to the UK.
The documentations also tells me the name of the SAAB dealer in Gothenburg that sold the car in 1978.
Very quick and efficient service from the Riksarkivet.
