I am wondering if there is a rollcage for Saab 99 Sedan available in Sweden, perhaps even with FIA-conform certificate?
I can get on here in Germany from HEIGO, but that one is only ok to our national regulations, not for international. I heared about a swedish manufacturer, called GUSS(?).
Any information about where I can get whar type of rollcage is of use.

Guss makes DIY rollcages for Saab 99. I don´t think you ca get a Fia aproved rollcages, only from certificated builders like KBT safety (expencive).

Ok, thanks for the info. Well, I can get a rollcage which is conform to the national regulations in Germany with 38x2mm tubing. What dimensions have the GUSS-cages?
Do you have a link to KBT safety?
EDIT: Found it: KBT’s hemsida
Until last year Safety-Devices in the UK offered a rollcage for Saab 99 with FIA-certificate, but it seems as if safety-devices has stopped bussines…
I don’t need to have FIA-certificate, but it wouldn’t hurt to have one.
I thought that the rollcages have to be FIA-conform in Sweden for rallying?!

Is Matter out of business these days?
Have a look here http://www.robinson-race-cars.co.uk/

Oh, now, I didn’t understand what was meant with ”Matter -> i was more thinking in the direction of ”whats the matter…”
No, Matter is out of bussines for at least 7 or 8 years. The only manufacturer in Germany who has a rollcage for 99 still in program is HEIGO. The others (i.e. Wiechers) can only custom-build a cage, which is still an option, but I would prefer a ready-built cage.
I will have a look at your link, Anders. Tack!

I have found another raollcage builder In sweden.
Both Guss and Setsosmide make rally cages for saab 99.
I bougth tubes for a 900 rallycar from Guss.
I´think Guss have 38 mm but and 42 mm in the strongest sections.
They are not bolt in cages you need to weld.
In sweden we have a motorsport event called folkrace. So I think rolftorp and Guss have
built thousunds of rollcages to the Saab 99.
I dont think Guss have any website.

KBT is a very good cooperation They have made 2 tollcages for http://www.swedeteammotor.com/ but they know the walue of there work… if yopu order a cage from then i think they also will mount them an charge you with 4000-5000 euro 🙂 b ut they make extremly nice work 😉
I am considring to buy a roll cage for my 96 -61 and the choise is between Guss (that made the cages for Saab during the -60:s) or Rolfstorps smide that ios situated closto my home.
If i dont remember wrong guss was a bit cheaper and also had a very good knowledge about what i needed 🙂29 april, 2006 kl. 19:14 #94414
Hm ok, so the dimensions of the Guss-cages is similar to these of HEIGO here in Germany.
I think it will be easier to get a roll-cage from HEIGO or have one custom-built here in Germany. Both options will not cost more than 1000-1200Euros. And I definitly don’t want to spend 4000-5000Euros for the roll-cage…
Thanks for the infos!

If you by the material from Guss he will charge you arounf 200-300 euros 🙂 Excluding shipping 😉29 april, 2006 kl. 21:18 #94416
Thats cheap compared to my german options… Interesting!30 april, 2006 kl. 12:01 #94417rogerDeltagare
Erik.. It´s not a built rollcage, it´s only the tubes, you have to cut them and weld them tohgeter by your self.30 april, 2006 kl. 12:47 #94418
I thought it is like the rollcages from HEIGO. You get all the parts ready bent, with all plates welded on, all holes allready drilled. So you just have to put it together in the car and fix it with the screws.
Ok, I think I have made a decision: I take a HEIGO-cage again.
I have one in my second Rallye-V4 and I am quite happy with it.
The rollcage itself costs about 450Euros, options cost extra (like crossed tubes in the rear, sidebars for the doors, some other tubes…). I payed about 850Euros for the cage in my V4.
But I still have some time before I finaly start the 99-project. I first have to build an extension to the garage…
