I noticed that the Sport speedometer has a trip counter on it. As I am setting up the Scatter Rallies the only thing I am missing in my car (71 Saab 96) is a trip meter that I can reset to measure off distances when they are required. I know a Halda or rally computer would be the best, but I thought a Sport speedometer would be the easiest solution to fit.
Problems is, would it be cheaper (how much would I expect to pay for one), and are there any out there.
If there are other speedometers that would fit in the 96 with a trip meter that may be of interest, but prefereably a Saab.13 oktober, 2007 kl. 18:42 #113213
I have been told that some Sonett’s have a trip meter in the speedometer, anyone got ideas on what I could expect to pay for one, and if it will fit into the 96’s instrument panel.13 oktober, 2007 kl. 19:30 #113218mellow yellowDeltagare
It will fit, I currently have a 96 standard instrument in my Sonett-2-v4 69. So if you will do the reverse I am confident that it will fit. I think it is the Sonett 2 and 2-v4 uptil year 1969 that is equipped with the trip meter but what about sport and monte carlo arent they also equipped with this option?13 oktober, 2007 kl. 19:36 #113219
Jonas – Thanks for the information, and yes, the sport and monte carlo do have it as well.
Now that I know it will fit, I need to try and find out what price I can expect to pay for a speedometer with a trip and if there are any available. The other alternative is a rally trip meter or GPS.13 oktober, 2007 kl. 20:42 #113224sten-arvid larssonDeltagare
