    Hej!

    I am in the process of building a new Saab 96 for rallyes. I want to compete in the german ”Schotter-Cup” (Grus-Cup) next year.
    As I build the car for german group F, I have to think about the weight of the car, to decide, wether to use a 1500 or 1700cc engine.

    So the question is, how much is the weight of your rallye-V4’s?

    Ok, so this would be about 945-950kg without driver (that is what I meant).
    The minimum-weight in the class 1300-1600cc is 960kg…

    And the others here, how much weigh your rallye-V4’s?

    My yellow one s weight is 1020Kg without driver.

    Erik Uppsälls is 930Kg built to be super light weight

    Leif Alges 960Kg but he dosent drive with double outlets & crossovermanifold

    Hej igen!

    Hm, that is quite a lot of different weights. My car will be with the standard-double-Solex-insug and enkelblas, as I am not allowed to use the korsinsug and dubbelblas in the German Group F. Perhaps I should first build the car ready with standard-engine and find out, how heavy the V4 is then…

    Hej igen!

    I am about to finish the build of the ”gravel-car”.
    As I didn’t find anybody in germany who is able to build a good V4-engine (believe it!), I now got an engine and gearbox from Stockholm (1740cc/weber 40DFI/7.6-camshaft ~115hk, 7:38 sp.2 with limited slip) -> Thanks Jonas!
    Therefore I have changed to group H because of the weight. Minimum allowed weight in the class up to 2.0 l is 890kg. Right now the car has 910kg! I still have to put on the glasfiber-hood and bootlid, than I am near 900kg. And I still haven’t put in rear-plastic-sidewindows, and I also have some glasfiber-wings. So it should be possible to come near 890kg…

    Is plastic windows, hood, bootlid and wings allowed in German group H? It seams to be big difference between Swedish and German regulations

    Hej Ulf!

    Yes, in group H you may use wings, boot and hood and even doors in non-metal-material. And you may also install side and rear-window(s) in plastic / macrolon.
    Besides this you may modify the chassis, the brakes, the gearbox, the engine (all but not the block)like you want it. For example put an 16V-cylinderhead on an 8V-engine, change from carburettors to injection (and vice-versa) and so on. But you may not put a turbocharger on a non-turbo engine…

    Yes, I know about the lightweight windscrenn (I am ”XP-user”). I already have this part in mind, have to get on next time I am up in Sweden…
