      Hi,
Anyone out there with a better advice on how to preserve the engine for winter storage ?

It is best way if the car cannot be started up some times during the winter.

Been a Saab owner since 1987.
I have owned at least 40 Saabs, mainly older Saabs.

        Today I have:
        1960 93F
        1967 96 Monte Carlo 850
        1975 96 V4
        1989 900i 8V 5 dørs
        1992 900S 5 dørs
        2009 9-3 SC tid

I do it like it says in the manual. Engine running at 3000 rpm, air filter holder removed. Pour 2-stroke oil into the carburator til the engine stops.
In spring time I start up and hope not to see the fire brigade… 🙂

it is not that bad…10 minutes of smoke but then back to normal…but people will come looking 😉

But that it also one of the joys with an old Saab. The scent is wonderful. Just make sure your wife and cats are inside if you do it close to your house…

When I started my car last spring, a neighbour 5 houses away came running. He is fire fighter and was wondering if there was a major fire around! 😀
