Looking good!
But why did you get the decals from England?
The price is sooooo much better there. Enjoy the EU rules of freedom of movement of goods and services.
Prices in the UK seams to be 1/3 of the swedish like Screenbolaget. That is probably the best reason you could give 🙂
juni 7, 2011 kl. 10:59 #28584Some more progress with the shell lightening, i have removed all of the soundproofing from the inside floor, the same method was used as with the underseal, screwdriver and then wiped down with some white spirit.
Passenger side removed…

Everything removed 🙂

I have also cut out the centre of the parcel shelf, the steel is quite thick and it is also covered in soundproofing like on the floor, the piece i cut out weighed 3kg, this is also a good weight saving because it is quite high up the car.

I have transferred the details over from the old forum.
I Have Been Able to find an early 1999 for rallying, so maybe some of you Will be happy to hear that my ’76 EMS is Safe smile.
Actually I owned this car 10 years ago, the saved it and got it roadworthy and I’ve just Bought it back from the guy in it to the soldier.
The seats ARE shot & the body work hock tired paint, But no root.
I do not know-when the serious work Will Start, But at least, i have found a good shell.
1709cc engine with freewheel gearbox, I Do not Think This Will Take to tuning very well racesmile
juni 3, 2011 kl. 09:11 #28484It’s Been sometime since in posted anything, but i Have Made Some Progress With The ’71 shell, in stripped it out and removed all of the underseal and soundproofing, i have today started Removing brackets That goodwill no longer ask Needed, all for the sake of weight reduction.
Before I started work on it to put Together a chassis tilts, this made work so much Easier and Helps to carry out a much better job.

I Used an old screwdriver to remove the underseal, i think with the underseal-being old and brittle helped!

Underseal removed and the original factory primer wiped down with white spirit.

Fuel tank area, just A Few rough patches, no rot, just a bit into the boot corners, easy repair smile

The entire floor

oktober 15, 2010 kl. 06:31 #163689Thanks Fredrik, i contacted Frank a few days ago but no reply so far.
oktober 13, 2010 kl. 19:28 #163625Do you have any more information on this engine, valve size, camshaft and maybe a dyno graph, how narrow is the power band?
oktober 12, 2010 kl. 19:33 #163576Another attempt to find out where the power is dropping on this engine has been carried out, i fitted stronger valve springs to allow it to rev higher, set the limiter at 7600rpm, but it looks as though it needs to rev higher to get the optimum from this engine, but i think i will leave the rev limit at this, after all it’s still running standard pistons and i don’t think the ring lands will take kindly to an 8000rpm beating, i may tweek the map just to get it above 170bhp just for the sake of it 🙂
oktober 11, 2010 kl. 17:15 #163528Is this power steering conversion for an historic rally car, under homologation rules? If not, have you considered fitting electric power steering, i am part way through the measuring/design stage of fitting adjustable power steering to my 99.
oktober 11, 2010 kl. 12:09 #163516OK, sorry for the confusion, i can see what you are asking for now. The C3 drop gears were part of the spec 1 gears, but they are a rare and unusual gear and not many were made.
oktober 10, 2010 kl. 20:44 #163498C1 and C2 are standard gears as far as i know, C3 is spec 1 and C4 is spec 2.
oktober 10, 2010 kl. 07:33 #163475I will try to answer your question, i think you are asking about the ’drop’ gears. I don’t think it would be possible to fit these gears from a 3-speed box to a later box or with competition gears, the early gears, two-stroke and V4, had a different tooth angle, so early and late types will not mesh.
As far as i know C3 and C4 are special gears only.
C1 22-40
C2 25-41
C3 25-38
C4 27-38oktober 9, 2010 kl. 08:43 #163456That is the problem with rolling roads, they can be inconsistant, i hope for you it is a worn part. Do you know what camshaft is the engine and also the valve sizes?
